Some of the included routers are not that good - old tech using old SOC. The current top three dogs in WiFi AC Dual Band routers are:
1) ASUS RT-AC68U - approx $220 (US dollars & all quoted prices from Newegg)
2) Netgear R7000 - approx $200
3) Linksys EA6900 - approx $200
To exclude the ASUS RT-AC68U & the Netgear R7000 in any consideration would be a major faux pas and miscalculation. Actually, most testing labs, dependent upon the testings' settings and variables chosen, have place these two excluded consumer routers in an almost dead tie.
Remember, your device, ie laptop, desktop, phone, tablet, phablet, TV, BR/DVD player and etc ..., can not achieve these new AC standards claims, 600 Mbps for 2.4 GHz & 1300 Mbps for 5.8 GHz for now w/ current tech but the AC standard is actual way, way higher, w/o the proper wifi receiving card at your device end. So don't go out & buy these new specs routers unless you're willing to upgrade your device and or wifi card end. For some device, this will be impossible and so you must buy a whole new phone, tablet, phablet and etc.... The new beam forming technology will only help a small degree @ the 2.4 GHz for older device. Is it worth the $$$$?
